I want to tell you about a cool trip. This trip is six days long. It takes you to the best parts of South India. You start in Chennai. Then you go to Kanchipuram, which is a city that is full of temples. Next, you explore Mahabalipuram, home to ancient and renowned monuments, some of which UNESCO has recognized. The trip ends in Pondicherry, which is a very beautiful place that features a mix of French and Indian styles. The South India trip is a way to see the historic and cultural heart of South India. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Chennai (Arrival)

Our representative will welcome you at Chennai Railway Station or airport. Chennai is the capital city of Tamil Nadu state. It used to be called Madras until 1996. Chennai is a city for culture, money, and education in South India. You will go to the hotel. Check in. Then you will go for a tour of Chennai. You will visit the Government Museum. It is one of the museums in India, but it is closed on Fridays. You will also visit the Chennai Snake Park, Gindi Poongaa, which is also called Guindy Childrens Park. It is closed on Tuesdays. You will see Gandhi Mandapam. It is a group of memorials on Sardar Patel Road. You will also see the Kapaleeswarar Temple. It is a temple for Lord Shiva. Then you will go to Anna Square. It was built to honor a leader named Arinzar Annadurai. You will visit the Dr. MGR Memorial. It is a memorial for M. G. Ramachandran on the Marina beach. You will also see the Chennai Marina Lighthouse and the Marina Beach. The Marina Beach is the beach in India and the second longest in the world. Walking on the Marina Beach during sunset is very nice. The beach becomes like a fair with stalls selling things like artifacts and jewelry and food. Then you will go back, to the hotel. Stay there for the night.

Day 2: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

In the morning after we have breakfast, we will check out of the hotel. Drive to Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram is a city that was once the capital of the kings. It is also a center of education where people come to learn about Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. When we arrive at Kanchipuram, we will visit the Kamakshi Amman Temple. The Kamakshi Amman Temple is dedicated to the goddess Kamakshi. Goddess Kamakshi is the form of Goddess Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari, who is also known as Parvati. We will also visit the Varadharaja Perumal Temple. The Varadharaja Perumal Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the Divya Desams, which are the 108 temples of Vishnu that were visited by the Alwars. Then we will visit the Kailasanathar Temple. The Kailasanathar Temple is a 7th-century temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built by the Pallava king Rajasimha, who is also known as Narasimhavarman II. We will also visit the Ekambareswarar Temple. The Ekambareswarar Temple is a Hindu temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is associated with the Pancha Bhoota, which are the five elements. Specifically, it is associated with the element of earth, which is also known as Prithvi. Then we will visit the Kumarakottam Temple. The Kumarakottam Temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan. After that we will go shopping at Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram is well known for its hand-woven silk sarees. Then we will drive to Mamallapuram, which is also known as Mahabalipuram. When we arrive at Mamallapuram we will check in to the hotel. We will stay at the hotel overnight.

Day 3: Mahabalipuram Sightseeing

In the morning after we have breakfast, we will go to see the sights of Mamallapuram, also known as Mahabalipuram. Mamallapuram is famous for the Hindu Group of Monuments that are from the 7th and 8th centuries, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A time ago Mamallapuram was a port for the Pallava rulers. The Pallava rulers built a lot of things like caves, sculptural panels, temples, and big stone rathas. We will visit the Mahabalipuram Seashore Temple that was built in the century. The Mahabalipuram Seashore Temple is an example of the Dravidian style of building things. Then we will go to the Krishna Mandapam, whichs a temple for Lord Krishna. The Krishna Mandapam is the most cave-cut Hindu temple in the world. The walls of the Krishna Mandapam have pictures of Lord Krishna, people, birds, and demigods. We will also see Arjunas penance, which is a big rock with carvings that was made in the middle of the 7th century. After that we will go to the Cave Temples, which are more than ten temples that were cut out of rocks a long time ago in the 7th century. Finally, we will visit the Pancha Rathas, which are also called the Paandava Rathas. The Pancha Rathas are a group of five stone temples, and each one is built in a different style. We will then go back to the hotel to stay for the night.

Day 4: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

In the morning after you have breakfast, you will need to check out of the hotel and then drive to Puducherry, also known as Pondicherry. Puducherry is one of the popular tourist spots for national and international tourists. Puducherry has a lot of things to see, like temples and churches and monuments and parks and mosques, which is why tourists like to go there. When you get to Puducherry, you should go to Panchavati Kshetram, which is a Hindu temple for Panchamukha Sri Anjaneyaswamy. Then you should go to Auroville Matrimandir. Just look at it from the outside; it is a place where people can sit and think quietly. You can see the Matrimandir from the Viewing Point, whichs near the Park of Unity. The Viewing Point is like a garden. It is a little higher than the rest of the park so you can see the Matrimandir and the things around it really well. After that you will go to your hotel. Check in. You will have the rest of the day to do what you want. You can eat the food, which is really good, or you can walk around and see what is near your hotel, or you can go to the market. Then you will go back to your hotel. Stay there for the night.

Day 5: Pondicherry Sightseeing

In the morning after we have breakfast, we will go for sightseeing in Puducherry. We will visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Sri Aurobindo Ashram is one of the well-known ashrams in India. People from India and all over the world come to Sri Aurobindo Ashram for salvation. Then we will visit Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Temple. Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Temple is a temple in Puducherry dedicated to Lord Ganesh. We will also visit the Puducherry Museum. Puducherry Museum is an art and history museum. It has a collection of 81 Chola bronze sculptures. This is one of the collections of Chola bronzes. Note that the Puducherry Museum is closed on Mondays and national holidays. Next we will go to Bharathi Park. Bharathi Park is a park with a Greco-Roman arch structure. It also has flowers, a play area, and fountains. Then we will visit Promenade Beach. Promenade Beach is also known as Pondicherry Beach. It is a beach that starts from the War Memorial and ends at Dupleix Park on Goubert Avenue. We will also visit the Sacred Heart Basilica. The Sacred Heart Basilica is an example of Gothic architecture. Then we will go to the Botanical Garden. The Botanical Garden was built by colonists on 22 acres of land. It has themed plots, an aquarium, and train rides. After that we will drive to Chunnambar Boat House. Chunnambar Boat House is one of the visited tourist attractions. It offers a great houseboat experience. Finally we will return to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Pondicherry - Chennai (Drop)

In the morning after having breakfast, check out of the hotel in Pondicherry. Start driving to Chennai. When you arrive in Chennai, you will be taken to either the airport or the railway station. The tour package covering Chennai, Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, and Pondicherry comes to an end, with some memories of Pondicherry.
