Day 1: Chennai (Arrival)
Our representative will welcome you at Chennai Railway Station or airport. Chennai is the capital city of Tamil Nadu. It was formerly known as Madras until 1996. Chennai is a cultural, economic, and educational hub in South India. You will be taken to your hotel and check-in. After that you will go sightseeing in Chennai. Some of the places you will visit are: Government Museum. It is the oldest museum in India. Note that it is closed on Fridays. Chennai Snake Park, Gindi Poonga, also known as Guindy Childrens Park. It is closed on Tuesdays. Gandhi Mandapam. A series of structures on Sardar Patel Road. Kapaleeswarar Temple. A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Anna Square. Built in honor of Arinzar Annadurai, a Dravidian leader. Dr. MGR Memorial. A memorial on Marina Beach for M. G. Ramachandran: Chennai Marina Lighthouse Marina Beach. It is Indias longest and the worlds second-longest beach. Walking on Marina Beach during sunset is an experience. The beach turns into a ground with many stalls selling artifacts, handicrafts, jewelry, and food. You will return to your hotel. Stay overnight.
Day 2: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Puducherry (Pondicherry)
In the morning after we have our breakfast, we will check out of the hotel. Drive towards Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram is a place that was once the capital of the kings. It is also well known as a center of education where people come to gain knowledge about Hinduism and other religions like Jainism and Buddhism. When we arrive at Kanchipuram, we will visit the Kamakshi Amman Temple. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kamakshi, whos the ultimate form of Goddess Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari, also known as Parvati. We will also visit the Varadharaja Perumal Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is one of the Divya Desams, which are the 108 temples of Vishnu visited by Alwars. Then we will go to the Kailasanathar Temple, which is a 7th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was built by the Pallava king Rajasimha, also known as Narasimhavarman II. After that we will visit the Ekambareswarar Temple, which is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is associated with the Pancha Bhoota, which are the five elements, specifically the element of earth. We will also visit the Kumarakottam Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Murugan. Then we can go shopping at Kanchipuram, which is well known for its hand-woven silk sarees. Then we will drive to Puducherry also known as Pondicherry. When we arrive we will check in to the hotel. Stay at the hotel overnight.
Day 3: Puducherry (Pondicherry) Sightseeing
The morning after breakfast we will go for a tour of Puducherry. First, we will visit Auroville Matrimandir to see it from outside. This place is for personal reflection. We can view the Matrimandir from a point south of the Park of Unity. This raised garden area has a view of the Matrimandir and its surroundings. Next, we will visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram. This ashram is very famous in India, and people from all over the world come here for spiritual growth. Then we will go to Puducherry Museum. This museum has a collection of old sculptures and art. It has 81 Chola bronze sculptures, one of the collections in India. Note that the museum is closed on Mondays and national holidays. After that we will visit Bharathi Park. This park has a garden, flowers, a play area for kids, and fountains. It also has an arch structure like the ones found in ancient Greece and Rome. Next we will go to Promenade Beach, also known as Pondicherry Beach. This beach starts from the War Memorial. Ends at Dupleix Park on Goubert Avenue. Then we will visit the Sacred Heart Basilica. This church is an example of Gothic architecture. We will also visit the Botanical Garden. The French built this garden on 22 acres of land. It has themed areas, an aquarium, and train rides for kids. Later we will go to Chunnambar Boat House. This is a tourist spot where you can enjoy a houseboat ride. Finally we will return to the hotel. Stay overnight.
Day 4: Puducherry (Pondicherry) - Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram)
In the morning after we have our breakfast, we will check out of the hotel. Drive to Mamallapuram, which is also known as Mahabalipuram. When we arrive at Mahabalipuram, we will go for sightseeing in Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram is famous for the Hindu Group of Monuments, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site from the 7th and 8th centuries. Mahabalipuram was a port for the Pallava rulers. The Pallava rulers built a lot of things like caves, sculptural panels, temples, and monolithic rathas when they were in power. We will visit the Krishna Mandapam, whichs a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. It is the largest cave-cut Hindu temple in the world. The walls of the Krishna Mandapam have pictures, including pictures of Lord Krishna, people, birds, and demigods. Then we will see Arjunas penance, which is a big rock relief that is carved outside. It was made in the middle of the century. After that, we will go to the Cave Temples. There are more than ten temples that were cut out of rocks, and they are from the 7th century. Finally, we will visit the Pancha Rathas, which are also called the Paandava Rathas. It is a group of five temples, and each one is built in a different style. We will check in to the hotel. Stay there overnight at the hotel in Mahabalipuram.
Day 5: Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram) - Chennai (Drop)
In the morning after you have your breakfast, you need to check out of the hotel. Then you should visit the Sculpture Museum. The Sculpture Museum is really famous for its collection of sculptures and pictures of the gods and goddesses of Hindu mythology. You will find more than 3,000 sculptures in this museum. The Sculpture Museum has a lot of sculpture. After that you will go to the centuries-old Mahabalipuram Seashore Temple. The Mahabalipuram Seashore Temple is one of the examples of the Dravidian style of architecture. Then you will drive to Chennai. When you arrive at Chennai, you will be taken to the airport or the Railway Station. The Chennai. Kanchipuram. Pondicherry. Mahabalipuram Tour Package will end with some delightful memories of the Sculpture Museum and the Mahabalipuram Seashore Temple.
