Tajikistan is an old place. You can see things from a long time ago. There are temples that are broken down. You can hear people speaking in ways that are not common. The people who live in the mountains have their ways of talking.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

When you get to the airport our team will be there to take you to your hotel. After you get to your hotel and unpack, meet in the lobby at 11:00. Then we will start a tour of the city of Tajik. We will go to Victory Park first. It is a nice park with great views from the top. Then we will walk to Banner Square. It is a place. After that we will go to Kokhi Navruz. It is a tea house with a lot of decorations. People say it is the nicest one in Central Asia. Next we will walk around the Oriental Bazaar. It is a place with a lot of things to see and smell. At night we will take a walk around the city when it is all lit up. Then we will go back to the hotel. The Tajik city tour is going to be really fun. We will see the city in the day and, at night. The Tajik city has a lot to offer.

Day 2: Tour of the city of Hissar and Dushanbe

After having breakfast at the hotel meet at 08:30 to visit the Hissar Historical and Cultural Reserve. This Hissar reserve is a site, not far from the capital city. Here you can see the Hissar Fortress and its old surroundings. At 12:00 we leave Hissar. Head to Dushanbe. We will visit the National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan. This museum has great artifacts, including a 13-meter Sleeping Buddha statue. The Sleeping Buddha statue is the biggest in Central Asia. After visiting the museum you will go back, to your hotel for a rest.

Day 3: Tour of the legendary lake Iskandarkul

After having breakfast at the hotel go for a drive to the Zarafshan Valley to see Lake Iskandarkul, which is named after Alexander the Great. The drive takes you through the Shahristan Ravine and the Anzob Tunnel. You will see very rugged mountains in Tajikistan. When you arrive at Lake Iskandarkul have lunch from a place by the lake. Then go for a hike, to a 38-meter waterfall called "Fan Niagara." At 4:00 PM leave Lake Iskandarkul. Head to the old city of Panjakent. You will arrive around 4:30 PM. Then start exploring the city. After that you will check into your hotel for the night.

Day 4: Tour of Penjikent

We had a breakfast at the hotel. Then we went out to see the things in Panjakent. Our first stop was the Ancient Settlement of Sarazm. This is a special place because it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is over 5,500 years old. The Ancient Settlement of Sarazm is one of the places where people lived in Central Asia. So it is a place to learn about how people lived a long time ago. You will see the royal palace and the ancient citadel at the Ancient Settlement of Sarazm. You will also see a Zoroastrian Fire Temple. After that we will go to the city bazaar. This is a place where people buy and sell things every day. Then we will go to the Panjakent Museum. At the Panjakent Museum you can see Sogdian wall paintings and other old things. These things show us how people lived in the Ancient Settlement of Sarazm a time ago. The day will end when we take you back, to your hotel.

Day 5: Trip to Khujand city

We have our breakfast at the hotel. Then we start going to Khujand. We travel through the Fann Mountains. These mountains are really beautiful. As we go through the tunnels and the winding roads you will see the mountains. They look amazing. You can even see snow on the mountains in the summer. When we get there we will go to the Bakhoriston Holiday Center. It is on the shores of the Kayrakkum Reservoir. People call this reservoir the Tajik Sea. It has beaches with sand and they are great, for relaxing. We will have dinner at a place and the people there are very nice. The food is good too. It is a great way to end the day in northern Tajikistan.

Day 6: Trip to Khujand city

After you have breakfast at the hotel you will go on a tour of Khujand, which is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia. The first places you will see are Pushkin Square and Kamoli Khujandi Square. These squares are really nice. One of them is named after a very famous poet from this area. Next you will learn about the things people did in the past at the Fortress of Timur Malik and the Archaeological Museum. These places will show you what life was like a time ago in this region. Then you will go to the Sheikh Muslihiddin Memorial Complex, which is a very beautiful group of sacred buildings. When you are in Khujand you have to visit the Panjshanbe Bazaar. This market is in the middle of the city. It is one of the oldest and most lively traditional markets, in Tajikistan. You can walk around. See the local things people make and the spices they sell. After the tour is finished you will go to the border. Cross into Uzbekistan. You will end the day in the busy city of Tashkent.
