Day 1: Arrival in Colombo | Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage | Transfer to Kandy | Lake Drive with Kandyan Dance Show
Welcome to Sri Lanka. You will go to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage when you get to Colombo. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a place where you can see elephants that were rescued. These elephants take baths. Play with each other in a place that is like their home. Then you will go to Kandy, which is a city in the hills. You will check in to your hotel in Kandy. Get some rest. In the evening you will take a drive around Kandy Lake. Kandy Lake is very famous. You will like the calm feeling of the place. You will also learn about the history of Kandy. At the end of your day you will see a traditional dance performance from Kandy. The Kandyan dance performance is very exciting. You will see people playing drums walking on fire and dancing. After that you will go back to your hotel, in Kandy and sleep.
Day 2: Transfer to Bentota | En Route visit to Perandeniya Botanical Gardens & Tea Factory | Boat Ride at Madu River | Visit to Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery
When you finish checking out you will start your journey to the nice coastal town of Bentota. On the way you can see the green landscapes of the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. You can walk down the Royal Palm Avenue and look at a lot of different plants. They have more than 4,000 kinds of plants. You will also get to visit the Kadugannawa Tea Factory to taste the real Ceylon tea that people over the world like. When you get to Bentota and check into your hotel you can do fun things. You can take a calm boat ride on the Madu River. Look at the quiet mangroves and the busy life in the river. At the end of the day you can go to the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery to see people working hard to protect turtles and get close to sea turtles that are in danger. The Bentota town is really nice. The Madu River is very pretty. You will have a time in Bentota and see many nice things, like the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens and the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery.
Day 3: Leisure Day in Bentota
Today is the day to enjoy the coastal charm of Bentota at your own speed. You can go to the Bentota Beach to get some sun or do exciting water sports like windsurfing and jet skiing on the Bentota Beach. To see some culture take a short boat ride to Cinnamon Island, where you can see how people harvest cinnamon the traditional way just like they have been doing for a long time on Cinnamon Island. If you like history you should visit the Galapata Vihara, a peaceful Buddhist temple that is famous, for its detailed stone writings.. You can go to the nearby town of Ambalangoda a lively place that is full of Sri Lankan heritage to look at the famous handmade masks that tell stories from local folklore in Ambalangoda.
Day 4: Transfer to Colombo | Colombo Sightseeing Tour
When you finish checking out you will go to Colombo, the city that is the heart of Sri Lanka. This city is really alive. When you get to your hotel and check in you can start looking around the city. You will see that Colombo has a mix of old and new things. You will go on a tour with a guide to see all the things. You will start at the Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple. This temple is really beautiful. It shows how old and new styles can work together. Then you will go to Galle Face Green. This is a place by the sea where people like to go. After that you will walk around the Colombo Fort area. It will feel like you are going back in time. At the end of your tour you will go up the Lotus Tower. This tower is the tallest, in South Asia. From the top you can see the city and the Indian Ocean. The view is really amazing. You will see everything from up high. The Lotus Tower and the city of Colombo will be an experience. You will see Colombo and the Indian Ocean from a cool perspective.
Day 5: Departure Day
In the morning, check out of the hotel and get transferred to Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport. This is where your amazing Sri Lanka trip comes to an end.
