Trip Highlights

Sri Lanka has lots of different landscapes. You can see the hills of Kandy which are covered in mist and the nice beaches of Bentota. Then you can go to the city of Colombo which is very lively.
You should see the Kandyan Dance show. It is very exciting with lots of drums and people dancing. The show ends with people walking on fire which is amazing.
Sri Lanka is a spiritual place. You can visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. This temple is very important to people and lots of people go there to pray.
If you like animals you should go to the Bentota Turtle Hatchery. They help protect turtles. You can see the baby turtles going into the sea for the first time.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Colombo | Transfer to Kandy

Welcome to Sri Lanka. When you get to Sri Lanka someone will meet you at the airport. Take you to Kandy. Kandy is an old city in the hills. On the way to Kandy you will stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a place where elephants are taken care of. You can see the elephants up close at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Watch them take a bath in the river. When you get to your hotel in Kandy you can go for a drive around the Upper Lake. The Upper Lake is a nice place. You can see the city from the Kandy View Point. The Kandy View Point is great for looking at the city. You can also walk around Kandy Lake. Kandy Lake is very peaceful. At night you can watch the Kandyan Dance Show. The Kandyan Dance Show is a lot of fun. The people dancing at the Kandyan Dance Show will even walk on fire. After the Kandyan Dance Show you will go back to your hotel, in Kandy. Stay there for the night.

Day 2: Kandy Sightseeing Tour

This morning I will take you on a tour of Kandy, the cultural heart of the island. Your journey starts at the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, the biggest in Sri Lanka. It covers 147 acres. Has over 4,000 plant species. You will see a collection of rare orchids and the tall Royal Palm Avenue. Next I will take you to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic a special place, in Kandy. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the important Buddhist shrines. The temple has the tooth relic of Lord Buddha. Then we will go to the Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue. From there you can see a white Buddha statue and a great view of Kandy city. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is really a must-see. Kandy has much to offer. The Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens are beautiful. The Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue offers views of Kandy.

Day 3: Transfer to Bentota | Day at Leisure

When you get to Bentota you will have an easy trip to your place. After you get there and check in you can do whatever you want for the rest of the day. You can go to Bentota Beach. Relax on the sand looking at the really pretty views of the coast.. You can try some exciting water sports if you feel like it. If you want to see what the local people do you can take a boat to Cinnamon Island. There you can see how they harvest cinnamon, which is really cool. If you like things and history you can go to the Galapata Vihara temple. It is an old Buddhist temple with beautiful carvings, on the stones and it is a very special place. You can go to Bentota. Have a lot of fun on Bentota Beach.

Day 4: Day Trip to Galle and Mirissa

Today, you will be driven for a day trip to Galle and Mirissa. Upon arrival in Galle, visit various sites such as the Dutch Reformed Church, Galle Dutch Fort—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the Galle Fort Lighthouse. Also, explore the Maritime Museum and Meera Mosque before moving to Mirissa. Later, relax on the scenic Mirissa Beach and take a leisurely stroll to the Coconut Tree Hill, a popular spot known for its picturesque scenery. After a fulfilling day, get driven back to the hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Colombo | Colombo Sightseeing Tour

After you check out you will go to Colombo, which is the busy capital city by the sea. When you get there and check into your hotel you can go on a city tour. This tour will show you how Colombo has changed over time. Your tour starts at the Gangaramaya Temple. It is a special and interesting place and one of the most important Buddhist sites in Colombo. Then you can look at the Colombo Lotus Tower. It is the building in South Asia and you can see the whole city and the Indian Ocean from it. You can see everything from high up. Next you go to the Pettah Floating Market. It is a market on the water where you can shop. After that you visit Galle Face Green. It is a place to walk along the sea. You will see lots of cool things in Colombo. At the end of the day you will go back, to your hotel to rest.

Day 6: Departure Day

This day, you will check out from the hotel and get driven to the airport for your flight back home.
